Submarine
Your passwords, encrypted and synced. No account needed.
Your passwords are your most important data, and they should not depend on a single company. Submarine syncs your vault across your devices, encrypted, through open servers that anyone can run.

Why Submarine
Synced, without a company in the middle
Your vault follows you on all your devices, with nothing to set up or copy by hand. It travels encrypted through open servers, not through a company that keeps it.
No single point of failure
Your vault is copied, encrypted, on several independent servers and on each of your devices. If a server goes down, the others still have it. And you choose which servers keep it, your own included.
Free to leave
Export your vault whenever you want, in a format other password managers can import.
How it works
Encrypted on your devices
Everything is encrypted before it leaves your device, so nobody but you can read it, not even us.
No account, just a key
When you create a vault, Submarine gives you its key. That key opens your vault on your other devices. Keep it somewhere safe: if you lose it, nobody can recover your vault.
Synced through open servers
Your vaults live on Nostr relays: open servers that anyone can run, and that only see encrypted data. There is no Submarine server to trust.
What it does
- Logins, cards and secure notes, with your own custom fields.
- Two-factor authentication codes next to your logins.
- A generator of strong passwords, passphrases and usernames.
- Import your passwords from Bitwarden, and export them at any time.
- Several vaults side by side, each opened on as many devices as you like.
- Changes saved on your device first, and synced once you are online.
- A lock password, with your fingerprint, face or screen lock as a shortcut.
- Copied passwords cleared from the clipboard after a delay.
- Screenshots blocked on Android unless you allow them.
- Usable with a screen reader, and with text twice as large.
- In 11 languages.
On all your devices
Android, Windows, macOS and Linux, and the web for every other device. The same key opens your vault on each of them.
Free and open source
No ads, no tracking, nothing to pay. The code is public, so anyone can check what Submarine does with your data.
Still young
Submarine is still young. For your most important passwords, we still recommend a proven password manager.
